At Raymond James, we share a desire to give back to the communities in which we work and live. It is this passion that inspired RJ Cares Month, a month-long initiative in which we encourage all employees and associates across the firm to reach out in their local communities and volunteer their time in May.
In 2015, we volunteered 1,349 hours.
Think we can do better this year?
It's possible, but we need your help.
How to Get Started
It's easier than you think. There are many ways to get involved, including stepping up to become an RJ Cares Captain for your team, department, office or community. Is there a charity you or your team wants to volunteer with? Reach out to them! Opportunities fill up quickly, so contact them as soon as possible.
If you plan to volunteer during work hours, be sure to get approval from your manager. If you're an RJ employee, you're entitled to one paid volunteer day, so take advantage of it!
We also encourage you to invite all your colleagues, family, and friends to participate. The more people volunteering, the bigger the impact.
What Would Be an Eligible Activity?
Our time can benefit our communities in many ways, so ask charities what kind of help they'll need in May. Last year, we cleaned shorelines, donated blood, prepared food for marginalized individuals, sorted at a food bank, mentored professional newcomers, and many more. What would not count towards the hours are activities of a more personal nature, such as coaching your kid's sports team, athletic clubs, and sponsorships.
