At Raymond James Ltd., embracing our spirit of social responsibility and giving back to the communities in which we live and work is a key value on which our firm is built. In 2013, it was decided to annually recognize the month of May as Raymond James Cares Month. The goal of this month-long event is to encourage people across the firm to reach out within their local communities and volunteer their time and get involved in projects that they are passionate about.
Last year we volunteered 1,349 hours and donated 659 lbs. of food across Canada. Our goal this year is to Show Canada how much we care by donating 2000 volunteer hours at a range of charity organizations across the country and 1000 lbs. of non-perishable food to local food banks.
Raymond James encourages our volunteers to choose a charity they are passionate about. We encourage people to step up and be leaders and to share their passion of community involvement with their colleagues.
62 charities benefited from our collective efforts, including; Ronald MacDonald House, Start2Finish, The Scott Mission, Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada, YWCA and many more.
Throughout the month of May, branches across the country also collected non-perishable food items for food banks across Canada. There were competitions in branches, contests to raise money to buy much-needed items such as baby formula.
Across the firm, people volunteered their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others.
We are looking forward to an even more successful Raymond James Cares Month this year as we show Canada how much we care!
