RJ Cares month has officially kicked off! On April 28, and April 29, 2015 teams from Marketing and The 53rd branch in Toronto made their way to the Scott Mission to lend some helping hands.
The Scott Mission provides help to those in need by offering a place to gather, eat and sleep when no other option is available.
Over 100 dedicated staff provides beds, clothes and food for those who need some extra help. The mission runs every day to offer support and provisions for the homeless, low-income families, and children and youth. Without the help of volunteers, the organization wouldn’t be able to continue its good work.
Raymond James responded to their need, sending 30 eager volunteers! Teams were split between kitchen duty, clothes sorting, food sorting and helping to prepare for the Scott Mission kids summer camps.
Nik Zabaljac from Coleman Wealth Management said, “Seeing how The Scott Mission runs was eye opening and enlightening. It really showed me how much volunteering truly helps those who run a non-profit organization and those who benefit from it. It was also great to see the satisfaction and pride the employees of the Scott mission feel by helping those in need each day.”
Volunteering for small non-profits and large organizations wouldn't be possible without those who offer their time and energy in order to see a positive change made in the lives of others. The goal for Raymond James Cares Month this year is to volunteer 1,000 hours across Canada. Will you be offering a helping hand?
